How to bleach the soles of sneakers or sneakers

The white sole on the shoe looks stylish, but, unfortunately, gets dirty quickly. In this article, we'll show you how to quickly restore her snow-white look.

12 ways to clean your sole

Before cleaning, remove dried dirt and adhering debris, and then rinse the shoes in warm soapy water.

The following remedies will help to restore the attractive look of the sole:

Laundry soap

The soap bar is crushed on a grater and then mixed with water to a state of gruel. The resulting composition is applied with a brush and left to soak for an hour. Further, the shoes must be well rubbed with a brush and washed off with soap under running water. Dishwashing gel is used in a similar way.

Dishwashing gel

Dissolve in water to obtain a saturated soap solution. Then they are used in the same way as laundry soap.

Toothpaste

The paste is squeezed onto a brush and rubbed into the sole. After the end of the procedure, the foam is washed off with water.

Nail polish remover

Take a piece of white material and soak it in the product. Colored material may leave marks. Carefully scrub the sole so that the solution does not get onto the top of the shoe. Rinse off the composition and blot the sole with a napkin.

Bleach

Mix the product with water at a concentration of 1 to 2. Apply the liquid directly to the sole. Check its condition every half hour. As soon as the surface acquires the desired shade, rinse it in water and dry it.

Washing powder

You can use a powder with a whitening effect. Dilute it with water to a paste and apply on the sole, holding for half an hour. Then brush the surface and rinse off the composition. To enhance the whiteness effect, you can add vinegar and hydrogen peroxide to washing powder. All products must be diluted in equal proportions and applied to the sole. For the composition to be absorbed, wait 15-30 minutes, and then rinse it off under water.

Table vinegar

Acetic acid does a good job with yellowing on the soles, if the cause is not drying on a battery. Dilute vinegar in water in a ratio of 1 to 3. In the solution moisten a cloth and wipe the surface. You can rub stubborn dirt with a brush. After that, rinse off the vinegar and blot the sole with a napkin.

Baking soda

It is poured onto a moistened sponge and rubbed into the surface; a toothbrush is better for cleaning the ribbed sole. Remove any residue and dry your sneakers. Soda can be used with acetic acid. To do this, you need to take 1.5 parts of vinegar, 1 part of soda and mix. The composition is applied to the surface and left for a while. Then the dried mixture must be washed off.

Prevention measures

The outsole may turn yellow due to ingrained dirt and dust and improper drying. If you put your sneakers on a radiator or next to other heating devices, then there is a high probability that the shoes will lose their whiteness.

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight has the same adverse effect, resulting in yellowing of the sole. In this case, it is possible to return it to its previous state only with the help of white acrylic paint, which should not have a water base.

To avoid such situations, take proper care of your shoes:

  • Store it out of direct sunlight.
  • Never dry your sneakers on a radiator or near a heating appliance.
  • When you return home from the street, wipe your sneakers with a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt.
  • Remove dirt immediately, do not allow the appearance of stubborn stains.
  • After drying, it is advisable to apply a colorless protective cream to the sole.
  • If you wear your sneakers in wet weather, use products that are water-repellent. Apply them to a clean and dry shoe surface.

If you treat your shoes with care and wear them carefully, then they will last you a long time.
