Quick Ways to Clean Coated Pots

Metal pots are different:

  • aluminum;
  • enameled;
  • made of stainless steel.

Depending on the metal from which the pan is made and its coating, housewives choose different cleaning methods.

How to clean burnt jam from an aluminum pan

Of all the pots for making jam, aluminum is the least suitable. Under the influence of berry acid, the protective film on its surface is destroyed, and particles of the alloy that are harmful to health fall into the finished dish. But if you have already undertaken to make jam in such a saucepan, then do not forget to put it in jars immediately after cooking to avoid an unpleasant metallic aftertaste.

The burn from jam at the bottom of an aluminum pan is best removed by citric acid.

Best of all, citric acid removes the sugar burn from the bottom of an aluminum pan. Cleaning process:

  • fill the burnt bottom with a solution of citric acid at the rate of 1 tsp. for 1 liter of water. Its level should be about 2 cm above the bottom;
  • place the saucepan on the stove and bring the solution to a boil;
  • boil for 10 minutes;
  • leave to cool.

After the solution has completely cooled down, the black sugar film will lag behind on its own.

Do not fill a hot, burnt saucepan with cold water. Aluminum does not like temperature extremes; dishes can deform.

How to scrub the burnt bottom of enameled dishes

Enamel pans have too thin a bottom, so the risk of "missing" the jam and getting a burnt black crust is quite high.

Sugar burn on the bottom of the enamel ladle can be removed with baking soda or salt

A burnt-on pan must first be cooled, and then proceed to cleaning. If the deposit is small, soda, salt, activated carbon or vinegar can cope with it. The most popular recipe with housewives is using baking soda.

  1. Pour half a glass of baking soda into the bottom of the dirty saucepan.
  2. Fill with water so that it covers the bottom by about 2 cm.
  3. Put the saucepan on the fire and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Leave to cool. The black crust will lag behind on its own after a while.

Soda can be replaced with salt. Add 5 tbsp. l. salt in 1 liter of water, pour over the burnt bottom and boil. Remove the remaining black film with a sponge and soap.
