How to clean a stainless steel kettle outside?

Your favorite stainless steel kettle gets dirty over time, both from the outside and from the inside.

There are a lot of household chemicals on store shelves now, but they are toxic, expensive, and sometimes ineffective. It is more rational to use simple folk remedies that will help solve the problem of cleaning the kettle without much hassle.

How to clean a stainless steel kettle outside?

Soda

Option 1

The kettle is wiped off the outside and placed on the table. Soda is applied to a wet rag or sponge, the surface is wiped. After completion, the kettle can be washed with running water. Then it is recommended to heat the kettle, in this case, the plaque that forms on the outside from the outside can be easily cleaned. It is recommended to keep the safety precautions during operation dealing with hot dishes.

The disadvantage of baking soda lies in its merits, its small particles can leave scratches, they can not only clean the surface, but also damage it.

Option 2

Water at room temperature is poured into a saucepan, soda dissolves in it at the rate of 1 tablespoon per 1 liter of water. Then a stainless steel kettle is lowered into the pan, the pan is placed on the stove. It should be boiled for no more than half an hour, then the liquid is cooled. Using a damp cloth, wipe off all plaque on the surface. To clean the kettle better, you can add a few drops of detergent.

Option 3

Soda is used in combination with vinegar. 4 tablespoons of baking soda and 4 tablespoons of vinegar are poured into a large saucepan, the contents are mixed well. Then a kettle is placed in this pot. The pot is placed on the stove. It is recommended to boil for no more than ten minutes.

The liquid is drained after it has cooled down. The kettle is cleaned of plaque and grease, washed with tap water. Then you should wipe the surface with a towel.

It is important to observe the required concentration of the solution: the larger the pan, the more soda and vinegar will be required.

Toothpaste

Option 4

A small amount is squeezed out of the tube of toothpaste onto a dry cloth, and the stainless steel kettle is wiped on the outside. Then the surface is rinsed with warm water. Do not use whitening paste because it contains particles that can damage the dishes.

Option 5

There are special cleaning compounds that effectively clean any dishes, for example: "Shumanit"... There are other means, there are a fair amount of them on the market, for example, Cif, Cillit.

Each package contains a note-reminder with recommendations for use: it is recommended that you carefully read the information. Always wear gloves when using cleaning agents.

It should be remembered that all household cleaning products contain toxins that should not get on the inside of the cookware.

If you use a substance such as "Shumanit" for cleaning, then be sure to use a respirator... This substance can remove any plaque, but it is unsafe to health and also has an unpleasant odor.

How to clean the inside of an electric kettle?

Electric kettles often develop plaque on the inside, so they need to be cleaned periodically. Citric acid is an effective remedy. It is not difficult to calculate the concentration of this substance. A sachet of citric acid is packaged in 25 g each, an ordinary teapot has a volume of no more than three liters. One bag is enough to descale the kettle.

This problem arises regularly, the presence of plaque changes the taste of drinks, so it is regularly recommended to carry out preventive work.

Citric acid is added to the teapot (one sachet), the vessel is “soaked” within one hour.

In this case, you should not use any tools in the form of brushes or something similar. Plaque will lag behind on its own, the most important thing is to make the necessary concentration of the solution so that it "works" effectively.

Folk remedies

Vinegar

Vinegar is also a good home remedy. It is ideal for cleaning the dirt on the outside of the kettle and for removing sediment from the inside of the vessel. It is important to respect the time frame and the appropriate concentration.

A solution is made of nine percent vinegar in a ratio of 3: 1. Then it is boiled in a kettle, after which the liquid remains in the vessel for some time. Then the solution is drained, if the remains of scale are still inside the kettle, then the operation is repeated again.

Inevitably, after the completion of the procedures, there will be a vinegar smell that has eaten into the metal. It is not difficult to get rid of it: tap water is poured into the kettle and boiled over low heat. Usually, after repeating the second or third cycle, the vinegar smell disappears.

Potato peel

There are also folk remedies that can effectively remove plaque and dirt. Potato skins are boiling inside the kettle.

Brine

Cucumber pickle is also one of the popular ways to get rid of scale.

You can also pour Coca-Cola or Sprite, the chemicals in these drinks help to remove the scale layer.

From the outside, the kettle can be easily cleaned with dishwashing liquid; this can be done even if the contamination is substantial.

Chemical Compositions

It is convenient to use special melamine sponges, their structure corresponds to the eraser. It is recommended to do everything carefully; moisture should be avoided on the electrical contacts.

After completing all operations, the surfaces are wiped with a dry cloth.

Effective remedies can be found on the market:

  • "Salit";
  • "Anti-scale".
