6 proven ways to clean the bottom of a burnt pot

If you gape and the food in the pot is badly burnt, it will be difficult to clean the bottom of the burnt pot with a simple dishwashing detergent. You can try soaking the bottom in a soapy solution, but this will not always help.

Before you try to do something further to remove the layer of carbon deposits and adhered fat, you need to take into account that a lot depends on the material from which the pan is made. It is known that the enamel surface can be damaged by acid, and the stainless steel pot is easily damaged by salt.

1st method: use PVA glue and non-additive laundry soap

What you need:

1/3 of a grated bar of laundry soap;
- 1 tbsp. spoon of PVA glue.

How to clean a saucepan

Add soap and glue to the boiling water, and boil for half an hour.

2nd method: cleaning with soda

This method is not suitable for aluminum pots.

What you need:

1 glass of baking soda;
- 1-2 tbsp. tablespoons of vinegar (if heavily soiled);
- 0.5 bar of laundry soap (if heavily soiled).

3rd method: cleaning with salt

Salt should not be used for cleaning stainless steel pans. This method is suitable for enamel and aluminum cookware. It differs from the second method only in that they take a solution of salt, not soda. You need to boil for at least an hour.

4th method: cleaning with vinegar

Vinegar cannot be used to clean an enamel pot. The rest of the materials will withstand it. The method is quite simple: pour vinegar into a saucepan and leave for 2-3 hours. Then wash as usual. If it is very dirty, you can boil water with half a bar of laundry soap and half a glass of vinegar in a saucepan for an hour.

Method 5: cleaning with citric acid

What you need:

2 tbsp. tablespoons of citric acid.

Boil some water in a saucepan, add 2 tbsp. tablespoons of citric acid, boil for 15 minutes. Then clean the pot as usual.
