How to brush a jacket at home with a brush, in the shower, by hand and in a washing machine

Going to a business meeting, a celebration or just to work in the office, the image of a modern stylish man will help you create a suit. But like any other wardrobe item, it requires care, in which washing trousers becomes a common thing, but how to wash a jacket at home so that it does not lose its shape is a question of concern to a large number of women.

Manual cleaning

  • To preserve the impeccable appearance of the suit, it must not be shaded to a shine, and after each dressing it must be cleaned with a dry brush.
  • In bright daylight, hang the jacket on a hanger and inspect it carefully. If stubborn stains are found, it is better to take it to a dry cleaner, and to remove minor dirt, proceed to manual cleaning.
  • To remove dust or lint, take a brush moistened with water (you can add vodka or a vinegar solution) and pass it over the entire surface of the clothing.
  • For cashmere and other delicate fabrics, it is best to use soft goat hair brushes. High-quality products from an English manufacturer are in demand and are suitable for these purposes.
  • It is not recommended to use sticky rollers for cleaning suits, as traces of glue remaining from them on clothes can cause irreparable damage to the material and spoil an expensive item.
  • If pockets, collars and sleeves are greasy, or if stains appear, resort to an effective and proven method of cleaning with ammonia.
    1. In a well-ventilated area (you can on the street), the jacket is spread on the table, with a towel or sheet underneath it.
    2. Visible contaminated areas are cleaned with a brush soaked in ammonia solution. And the entire product is gently wiped with a sponge or brush in the direction of the villi, after checking the interaction of ammonia with the fabric on the shred or seamy side of the thing.
    3. To prepare the solution, take 30 ml (2 tablespoons) of ammonia, add a liter of water, mix.
    4. Such cleaning will moisten the material, so the jacket should be hung on a hanger and left for a quarter of an hour. Then it is ironed and once again cleaned with a dry brush against the lint, hanging on a hanger.

  • The gloss on wool items is removed by ironing the item through a cotton cloth soaked in a 7% vinegar solution. The solution is prepared in a 3: 1 ratio (30 ml of vinegar + 10 ml of water).
  • Stubbled areas are cleaned with a brush dipped in acetone or gasoline, but always after checking the resistance to these substances from the inside of the garment. In the open air, the jacket is dried and aired, then ironed.
  • If cleaning with gasoline and vinegar did not give the desired result, it is recommended to try another method using sand. Salted areas are moistened with warm water and sprinkled with a thin layer of clean sand, rubbed with a brush dipped in water. The dried sand is cleaned off with a dry brush, the thing is steamed with an iron.
  • Some housewives process places on clothes that shine with a cut of raw potatoes. Traces of starch are removed first with a wet sponge, then with a dry sponge.
  • Stubborn stains on clothing can be removed using stain removers. Before use, you must read the instructions for use, and what type of fabric they are intended for.
